Full disclosure: I am the narrator for this audiobook, but I really love this series.
Aeon of Horus by Paul Neuhaus is the second book in the Quinn Henaghan series, and the action continues. Quinn is restless. She has new magical powers and nothing to do with them. The savior of LA is thrust into domestic life without a bad guy to fight. Until a dying man arrives at her doorstep with a strange statue. This book is packed with magic, romance, and thrilling action right up to the end. Listen to Aeon of Horus Haven't heard Company Town (Book 1 of the Quinn Henaghan series)? I haven't done much reading lately. I'm still soaking in the vibes of The Silent Patient. I love it when the feelings from a book linger. Still, I have another Book of the Month book waiting, and I need to get started soon!
I've been in the studio a lot lately. I am finishing up the final edits on the second book in the Quinn Henaghan trilogy. I'll post a review once the audiobook comes out. I'm really enjoying the trilogy and feel honored to get to bring it to life. (If you missed the first one - Company Town - click hear and give it a listen, you won't be disappointed.) I've also just accepted a deal for another trilogy - romance this time. I'm excited to get started on the first book. I really love narrating audiobooks. It's experiencing the story on a deeper level. I get to try and really understand the characters and what makes them tick. I enjoy the editing process, too. I can't think of a job better suited for me. I am a newbie, and still learning a lot, but I am so happy this is my life. Starburst (Book 1: Women of the Grey) by Carol James Marshall is a beautifully written book.
Lisa is one of many. They are all the same and none different. Lisa has been given a mission, but even she is unclear of what she is supposed to do. One by one, we meet her marks. Seemingly unconnected people living in a desperately sad and disconnected world. Lisa slowly befriends each of them. She has a date for the end point and must draw them each to her by that time. The characters are intriguing and well-written. Marshall doles out bits of their backstories in tantalizing peeks into their hidden thoughts. Each is burdened and weary. But how do they fit into the plan? As the end point rapidly approaches, the lives of Lisa's marks spin out of control. I couldn't stop reading until the very end. This book is full of fascinating characters, and it is packed with action until the very last page. Starburst is the first book in the Women of the Grey series, and I cannot wait to read book 2!
